The NYT article on Food Myths is so crazy to me, your analysis of the nutrients is great! There are also almond and oat milk varieties that contain adequate nutrients too, which the article doesn't touch on. I'm a plant-based milk advocate, but I work with a lot of kids who struggle with growth, many do not tolerate dairy, but a lot of them are getting normal almond milk which is not appropriate for this population. I've been thinking about what my opinion would be on the PBMA guidance in the wake of the opportunity to comment. I've come to the conclusion that this is why why we have dietitians, to provide this information and inform family choices for medical nutrition therapy, and it's not applicable to most of the population.
I've seen a couple people talking about the various myths of that article, I think the idea that you can dispel myths in a brief paragraph with limited other resources for people to learn from is a stretch. Especially if only representing one person's answer/research/viewpoint. Thank you for sharing your perspective on PBMA and your work with patients/clients!
Jewish Veg uses Trello to stay organized as we're juggling a variety of campaigns and projects, and I use it for my personal-to-do list. I love that you can easily configure it to meet your needs.
Cutest Ginny pic! Reading with a big bagel sandwich and iced dirty chai in hand.
sounds perfect!
I always appreciate your roundup of food system news – and thank you for including me in it :)
Thank you so much! It means a lot to be able to support each other’s work💚
